Every hair grows, rests and then falls out, after which a new hair forms. About 80 to 90 percent of the hair on your head is in this phase. On your body, however, the growth phase is much shorter, which is why leg and underarm hairs never get as long.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fit\">Only in this phase does the hair respond to laser hair removal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card phase\" data-name=\"Transition phase\" data-short=\"Transition\" data-sub=\"Catagen\" data-d=\"2 to 3 weeks\" hidden>\n<p class=\"t3\">Transition phase (catagen)<\/p>\n<p>The hair then stops growing and detaches from its blood supply. This is how it prepares for the resting phase.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fit\">A short in-between phase of about two to three weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card phase\" data-name=\"Resting phase\" data-short=\"Rest\" data-sub=\"Telogen\" data-d=\"about 3 months\" hidden>\n<p class=\"t3\">Resting phase (telogen)<\/p>\n<p>The hair no longer grows, while a new hair is already forming in the follicle. At any given moment, around 10 to 15 percent of your hairs are resting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fit\">That is why you see new hairs appear again some time after a laser treatment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card phase\" data-name=\"Shedding phase\" data-short=\"Shedding\" data-sub=\"Exogen\" data-d=\"50\u2013100 hairs per day\" hidden>\n<p class=\"t3\">Shedding phase (exogen)<\/p>\n<p>The old hair lets go and falls out, while the new hair is already growing underneath.
