Done with shaving?
Shaving seems quick, but after a day or two you can already feel stubble again. The razor also often causes red bumps, itching and ingrown hairs. Waxing and laser hair removal, on the other hand, tackle the hair at the root.
Stubble after a day
When you shave, you only cut the hair off at the surface, so it comes back visibly straight away.
Razor irritation
The razor scrapes over the skin every time. This makes red bumps, burning and itching more likely, especially in the bikini area.
Ingrown hairs
A shaved hair also has a sharp tip, which makes it easier for it to grow back into the skin.
Switching to waxing
- Stop shaving two to three weeks before your appointment, so the hair is about half a centimetre long.
- The first time you will feel it a little more, but after a few treatments the hair grows back finer.
- With waxing every four to six weeks, you stay smooth almost all the time.
Switching to laser
- With laser you should actually keep shaving in between, because the hair root needs to stay in place.
- Less hair grows back after each session. Six to ten treatments are usually needed.
- In time, you will also be rid of razor irritation and ingrown hairs.
